Tonghua Dongbao opens an online flagship store, tapping into Internet healthcare

Tonghua Dongbao Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Tonghua Dongbao" or "the Company") has doubled down on retail this year. Since March 2022, it has opened stores on mainstream e-commerce platforms such as Tmall, JD.com and Pingduoduo, and set up brick-and-mortar pharmacies in 20 provinces across China. This is a solid step forward of the Company to embrace digital transformation and Internet healthcare.
Its online stores offer a range of products including medical devices, prescription drugs (which require a physician's prescription for sale), and OTC drugs. The Company boasts a strong sales and distribution network covering most parts of China, providing patients with integrated online and offline pharmacy services. On top of that, it also has several online diabetes management platforms which further boost its out-of-hospital sales and speed up its expansion into incremental markets.
Since 2015, Tonghua Dongbao has continued to ramp up its investment in Internet healthcare and explore digital innovation. So far, the Company has launched a series of online diabetes management platforms such as the Dongbao Diabetes Platform and the Integrated Whole-Course Diabetes Management Platform which, together with the POCT system (for bedside glucose monitoring), enables online communication between doctors and patients and real-time transmission of patient pathology data. These platforms make it possible for diabetic patients to get professional out-of-hospital glucose management services, and allow medical workers to manage in-hospital and out-of-hospital patients in a centralized way.
Meanwhile, the Company has built a doctor-patient education platform on WeChat (official account/channel: Dongbao Sulin Care; mini program: Sulin Care Assistant) that provides diabetic patients and physicians with all kinds of medical knowledge and services in a convenient, intuitive and efficient manner through articles, short videos and live streaming. These online platforms can help physicians improve their expertise, and assist patients in more efficient glucose control.
Tonghua Dongbao will firmly advance its digital reform and continue to improve and enrich its online management and service platforms to allow a free flow of information between doctors and patients. The Company will also further broaden its sales channels and provide patients with better products and after-sales services to inject new momentum into business growth.
